The Glossy Green Island

We have been learning how write descriptively. We learnt this so that we can write other descriptive pieces in the future. I enjoyed picturing myself on the island and I found it tricky to find the right words to write into my story. Next time I would change the topic and maybe use different describing words.

When I am sitting on the island I can smell the fragrant coconuts wafting up my nose. The coconut smells like the fresh green leaf that it came out of. It  smells of the milky cream coconut milk that’s inside.

The tropical fish glide through the water and the only thing that they leave behind is a little ripple in the water that the sun reflects and makes the sky shine bright rays of light. The two short trees sway hurriedly above me.

Far in the distance I can hear the roaring motor of a grey tourist boat slowly coming closer. The breeze rustles the trees and the trees start swaying violently like there's something lurking about. The water is swirling gently and calmly. The parrots were squawking loudly and it is annoying. The parrots were emerald green and garnet red.

The hard rocks were warm against the cold breeze and the soft rug that I set up was warm. The soft grass was spiky green and was icy cold.

When I jump in the water it’s really warm and it tastes very salty and it was not pleasant. The fresh air fills my gasping lungs. This island is green, viridescent and gigantic.
